Welcome to the Discovery Freelancer Datasite and Quick Reference area! Here you can learn about the game, the mod, and all about the different ships, their strengths and weaknesses. |
If you are new to Freelancer Online, then I have a whole lot to tell you! I hope this site will help you learn the basics of Roleplay and how Freelancer and Discovery operate. |
Let's begin. |
First off, never, never, never, never use leetspeak! Also known as 1337speak. No matter how you say it, it's annoying. People don't like seeing someone with a lot of strange symbols in their name-- it looks funny. Just type it all out, it's not that hard to do. |
Second, if you've played on another server, and then join a new one, don't go on and on about how much better the old one was. That also makes people irritable, and are more prone to the third item: |
Swearing in game. Just don't do it. It never solves anything, and usually makes more problems than it's worth. The same goes for whining. Now, before you fire off an email, private message, or other form of communication rebuking me for being so strict, hear this: I am not attacking you personally. These simple rules make your online gaming experience much more enjoyable for both yourself, and for those you play with. |
Now to get away from generic stuff. I'm now going to talk about Freelancer/Discovery specific online advice and tips. |
When you start, you have a rather lame ship. Instead of complaining, try improving your lot in life. (Hint, Colorado has a lot of silver that sells good on a place in California...) Above you'll see a link to a political map. This map is your friend. Visitor, meet Map. Map, meet Visitor. This will show you what systems to avoid like the plague when you first start, since you are mostly < align="lawful">. |

Have fun, explore the site, and go play! |
