By far my favorite thing to do is fish for Oregon’s famous trout, salmon, and steelhead.  My fishing pursuits have taken me all across the state as well as many other western U.S. states, but no other place offers as many diverse fishing opportunities as Oregon (well, except  for Alaska!).  I am also the Captain of the dory Fog Cutter, based out of Pacific City, OR.

Is there any place more beautiful than the Oregon Coast?  I spend a lot time at the coast.  It’s a great place to get away from the rigors of work and life, clear your head, and most of all relax!

A lot of what I do outside of work involves my very loving and energetic Yellow Lab, Kami.  She’s named after a river I guided on in Alaska, the Kamishak.  Kami goes almost everywhere my wife and I go.  She is a very dedicated, and dear, friend.

I had the opportunity to work in Alaska as a fly fishing guide for a summer a few years ago.  Alaska is truly an amazing place, and that summer I was witness to more mountains, rivers, streams, salmon, trout and bears than I will ever see again.

Outcamp on the Copper River.  I spent over a month living there in a tent, rafting the river, and sharing the surroundings with bears and wolverines.

The only way to get to truly beautiful and amazing places is to go where vehicles can’t, so hiking is one of my favorite pursuits.  It’s a lot of work, but the payoffs are unbelievable vistas and adventures.
