Canby United Methodist
Quilting Group
Our Quilting Group started at a Methodist Church
Summer Camp in 1996 where we met with people with Aids. After
the camp session was over, all the Aids victims were given a
quilt. We were so impressed with the response of this gesture
that we started our own quilt group and now furnish handmade quilts
to Aid victims to give them a symbol of our concern and support.
Eventually we started to make quilts for other
causes as well.
We are basically a group of quilters who invites
anyone to join us.
No sewing experience is needed.
There is nothing fancy about our quilts. They are tied together and
we obtain our material from Rummage sales and other sources.
Our "nothing fancy" quilts, however
provide many smiles for those in need of these products
that show our love and caring.
When do we meet?
First and Third Thursday of every month from 1:30 to 4pm in the
Canby Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
