Canby
Kids, Inc. is an umbrella organization which houses and assists 6 sports. Each sport is run by their own board of directors.
Canby Kids Board Meeting
April 5, 2006
Meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm at The
Seasons meeting room.
In Attendance:

Minutes from January were approved as submitted.
Treasurer report was approved as submitted.

Sports Reports:
Canby Junior Baseball Sports Report: submitted in
writing by Charlie Piert.
-As of 4/1/06, we have closed out Registrations at all levels.
Registrations are down from last year with (435) total participants in
2006. We will field (8) T-Ball teams, (7) Coach Pitch teams, (6) Town
League teams, (3) Midget teams, (5) Junior teams and (3) Senior teams.
Team Rosters at all levels are established and distributed.
-Held a mandatory Coaches meeting on 3/15/06, passing on information to
all coaches regarding the 2006 season. Also reviewed expectations of
coaches and what they can expect from the baseball board. At the
conclusion of the meeting, all coaches received their equipment.
-Practice season began this week for all teams.
Upcoming events:
-Field Work Day on 4/8/06 and 4/22/06.
-Uniform Distribution on 4/8/06 for all Traveling teams.
-Team Camps on 4/15/06.
-Mandatory Coaches Clinic on 4/15/06.
-Pitchers/Catchers Clinic on 4/22/06.
-Hit-A-Thon Fundraiser and Team Pictures on 4/29/06.
-League Play begins for all teams in May; some teams could begin in late
April.
-T-Ball and Coach Pitch Jamboree on 5/6/06.
-Starting 5/13/06 Invitational Tournaments will be held each weekend for
all levels, excluding holiday weekends.
Softball: Verbal report by Richard Zorr
- The league is getting started.
- Registration is up to about 14 teams.
- They are using new uniforms this year
- Softball bought the dunk tank and it will be
available for rent by other sports or other entities.

- ProGrass work has consisted of fertilizing the
fields
- Maple Street outfield has been over-seeded by the
city
Office Report: Verbal report by Carol
- Carol proposed changing the meeting dated to even
numbered months, the next meeting taking place in June; everyone agreed
to the change
- The fundraising committee will be meeting April
14th
